Arizona Reading Fundamentals OnDemand Academy

This Science of Teaching and Reading Knowledge Block includes three asynchronous sessions made-up of discussion topics, articles, online tasks, and pre-recorded videos. Topics include: The Science of Reading, The Science of Teaching, and A Growth Mindset.

When completed with colleagues, this knowledge block is intended to improve a school’s systemic reading fundamentals.

Before you register, check our webpage for the recommended companion texts to be purchased prior to starting a course.

Audience: Reading educators and leaders
Cost: FREE + recommended text
Location: Blackboard Ultra online course
Registration: Required in APLD for each participant
Time: Asynchronous, should take approximately 5 hours to complete
Date: OnDemand
Passing: 80%
Credit: 5 clock hours, upon passing

Participants must register individually. Blackboard link accessible in APLD “Active Courses” once registered. 

Certificates: To receive a certificate, you must pass the course with an 80% or higher. Certificates are available in the "COMPLETED COURSES" list in APLD. No record of attendance will be emailed or kept by the ADE staff.

This knowledge block is not aligned to the literacy endorsement or Dyslexia Training Designee requirements.

Prior to registering for any ADE professional learning for recertification purposes, check with your district or charter to ensure it will be counted for clock hours.
